From Orchard to Heart

ree

This October, my family and I embraced a new tradition—apple picking. It was the very first time for my daughters, and for me, it was a return after more than fifteen years. As we wandered through the orchard, the experience felt both fresh and familiar. Their excitement was contagious: the thrill of reaching for the ripest apple, the joy of tasting one straight from the tree, and the simple wonder of being surrounded by nature’s abundance.

Watching them discover this for the first time reminded me of my own childhood, and unexpectedly, it stirred memories of my grandmother. After we returned home, I felt inspired to bake her beloved apple crumble—a recipe I hadn’t made in years. As the scent of warm apples filled our kitchen, it was as if she were with us, smiling at the joy we were creating.

As a health coach, I often speak about nourishment—not just through food, but through experiences that feed the heart. This moment reminded me how rituals, even simple ones like baking or picking fruit, can reconnect us to our roots and help us create new memories with those we love.

This month, I invite you to reflect on your own seasonal rituals. What traditions have you passed on—or rediscovered? What flavors bring you comfort and connection? Let October be a time of warmth, remembrance, and renewal.

With heart and harvest,

Angélique
